The Mount is sitting at the top of the lower half of the team standings. In addition to their recent 10-1 victory, the Magic have suffered a 10-1 loss at the hands of the other "Villa," traditional powerhouse Villa Maria Academy (Malvern, Pa.). The outcome helped illustrate the wide disparity in the strength of the Catholic Academies hockey teams this fall.

Splitting time in goal, senior starter Alyssa Brachelli and junior reserve Nora Haney each recorded one save. The multiple goal-scorers in the game were both Norwood Fontbonne Academy graduates and current Mount seniors, Katie Convey (four goals) and Campbell Donovan (two).įellow seniors Jane Mazzanotte and Ashley Timby scored, as well, and the other two markers came from junior Aisling Scibelli and sophomore Caroline Killian. Joseph Academy rolled to a 10-1 victory over Villa Joseph Marie Academy (Holland, PA) the afternoon of October 11.
